North Bay Sanctuary

CR 93A
San Patricio County, TX

The North Bay Sanctuary is owned and operated by the Coastal Bend Audubon Society. This 75-acre property features several prominent south Texas habitat types as well as 2 wetlands and abundant wildlife.

November 2023 Update: Audubon Foundation of Texas has awarded Coastal Bend Audubon Society $2,500 of their Restoration Grant for fencing work at our North Bay Sanctuary. To learn more about this grant, click on the button below:

February 2023 Update: The North Bay Sanctuary is currently being restored to allow mowing. This restoration includes clearing fence lines, removing non-native species, and restoring some structures that were damaged during Hurricane Harvey. Coastal Bend Audubon Society is also planning a controlled burn of the property. This undertaking will be somewhat expensive because of the Sanctuary’s current restoration needs, but will help to ensure that CBAS can continue with less expensive maintenance in the future.

At this time, access to the Sanctuary is only approved for CBAS Board Members, CBAS members accompanied by a Board member, or contractors hired by CBAS to work on restoration. This restriction is being implemented as a safeguard until the property has been safely restored.
